Frequently asked questions.
How will I know if I need therapy?
Therapy may be helpful for you if you have tried to make changes on your own and find yourself continuing to run into the same problems over and over again. Or maybe you know you need a change and don’t know where to start.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I do not prescribe medication. Only licensed medical providers may prescribe medications in the state of Alaska. If you are interested in exploring medication-assisted therapy, I can refer you to a local medical practitioner.
Do you accept insurance?
We will bill insurance providers as a courtesy for clients. I am in network with several commercial insurance providers. You are responsible for paying for services if they are not covered by your insurance provider for any reason.
Do you offer in person session?
I do offer face-to-face sessions as well as telehealth. I also conduct Walk and Talk therapy as an additional option for face-to-face therapy.
Do I need a referral for counseling services?
You typically do not need a referral for mental health counseling. Checking with your insurance provider will give you a clear answer on whether or not the services will be covered.
