My name is Loni and I’m here to help you.
I know asking for help can be tough. Most people are taught the pinnacle of success is doing it all on your own. The truth is it can be near impossible to balance all areas of your life perfectly. I am here to listen to you, not judge you. I have a gentle and collaborative approach to counseling. I want us to work together to create goals that are tailored specifically to your needs and values.
As a young girl growing up in Alaska, I was always intrigued by people and their behaviors. I bring the same curiosity I had as a child into my clinical practice by approaching therapy as an exploration into your life with you as the guide. My approach is holistic and I am passionate about helping people just like you. I use mind-body techniques in addition to traditional cognitive processing.
My collegiate experience includes a BA and MS degree in Counseling Psychology from Alaska Pacific University. My graduate research analyzed the effectiveness of Positive Psychology techniques in couples counseling. I am a member of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology and am currently a PS-2 practitioner of EFT. I am working towards becoming an ACEP Certified Practitioner of EFT (ACP-EFT).

FAQs
How do I know if you will be the right therapist for me?
The only real way to know if we will be a good match is to meet for an appointment. I recommend shopping around for the right counselor; not every provider will seem like the right fit. It is important you feel safe and comfortable with the provider you select.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I do not prescribe medication. Only licensed medical providers may prescribe medications in the state of Alaska. If you are interested in exploring medication-assisted therapy, I can refer you to a local medical practitioner.
Do you bill insurance?
We will bill insurance providers as a courtesy for clients. I am in network with several commercial insurance providers. You are responsible for paying for services if they are not covered by your insurance provider for any reason.
Are you seeing clients for face-to-face sessions?
I do offer face-to-face sessions as well as telehealth. I also conduct Walk and Talk therapy as an additional option for face-to-face therapy.
How will I know if I need therapy?
Therapy may be helpful for you if you have tried to make changes on your own and find yourself continuing to run into the same issues over and over again. Or maybe you know you need a change and don’t know where to start.
